Dreaming

by Nicholas Barnard on January 31st, 2003

Dreaming is the curse I’ve been given.

Sort of like cassandra I can dream, but I cannot get anyone to believe in my dreams. Its such a painful position to be in.

If only I could get one of my big dreams, things would be better. Yes I’m stuck with coming up with so many dreams unfulfilled.

Dream Deferred

by Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?

Or fester like a sore–
and then run?

Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over–
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

It explodes.
